ColdPort Accelerates Global Growth with Strategic Expansion into Latin America

DALLAS, TX – April 15, 2026 – ColdPort, an industry leader in temperature-controlled supply chain solutions, today announced a major strategic expansion into the Latin American market. Backed by a $250 million capital investment, the company has initiated the development of three state-of-the-art cold storage facilities located in key logistics hubs across Mexico and Brazil. This expansion marks a pivotal step in ColdPort’s long-term strategy to establish a unified, highly efficient global cold chain network.

The new facilities, strategically positioned in Monterrey, Mexico; São Paulo, Brazil; and Curitiba, Brazil, will add over 15 million cubic feet of advanced temperature-controlled capacity to ColdPort’s portfolio. Designed to meet the surging demand for high-quality perishable logistics in the region, the facilities will serve local agricultural producers, multinational food manufacturers, and the rapidly growing pharmaceutical sector in Latin America.

"The Latin American market represents a massive opportunity for modern, technologically advanced cold storage solutions," said David Simpkins, Founder & CEO of ColdPort. "For too long, the region has struggled with fragmented supply chains and outdated infrastructure, leading to significant post-harvest losses and logistical inefficiencies. By bringing ColdPort’s signature blend of cutting-edge technology, operational excellence, and sustainable design to these key markets, we are not just expanding our footprint; we are fundamentally upgrading the backbone of the region's food and pharmaceutical supply chains."

The new facilities will incorporate ColdPort’s proprietary 'SmartChill' warehouse management system, offering real-time inventory visibility, predictive analytics, and seamless integration with client ERP systems. Furthermore, in alignment with the company’s ambitious sustainability goals, all three locations will feature high-efficiency refrigeration systems, extensive rooftop solar arrays, and rainwater harvesting infrastructure, designed to minimize their environmental impact and reduce reliance on local power grids.

"Our expansion into Latin America is driven by direct feedback from our core international clients who are looking for a reliable, single-source partner capable of managing complex cross-border supply chains," Simpkins added. "These new strategic hubs will enable seamless, end-to-end temperature integrity from local farms and manufacturing plants directly to retail distribution centers and end consumers, entirely within the ColdPort ecosystem. This is a game-changer for regional commerce."

Construction on the Monterrey facility has already commenced, with an expected operational date of Q1 2027. Groundbreaking ceremonies for the São Paulo and Curitiba locations are scheduled for the third quarter of this year. Once fully operational, the three facilities are expected to create over 800 direct jobs, providing a significant boost to local economies.

As part of its entry into the market, ColdPort is also establishing partnerships with local technical universities to develop specialized training programs in modern cold chain logistics, ensuring a skilled workforce is ready to operate these advanced facilities.
