DALLAS, TX – March 10, 2026 – ColdPort, a leading innovator in temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics, today announced the successful acquisition of Arctic Gateway Storage, a prominent legacy cold storage facility located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This strategic acquisition significantly bolsters ColdPort’s capacity in the crucial Midwest corridor and represents the company’s commitment to modernizing existing supply chain infrastructure through targeted technological upgrades.

The 450,000-square-foot facility, strategically situated near major interstate junctions, adds approximately 12 million cubic feet of convertible temperature space to ColdPort’s national network. While the facility boasts a robust physical structure and an exceptional location, ColdPort plans an immediate, comprehensive modernization program to bring the site up to the company’s industry-leading operational and technological standards.

ColdPort has committed an initial $15 million in capital expenditure to overhaul the facility’s core systems over the next nine months. The modernization project will include the installation of ColdPort’s proprietary cloud-based warehouse management system (WMS), the complete automation of critical refrigeration controls, and a comprehensive upgrade of the material handling fleet to zero-emission lithium-ion technology. Furthermore, the facility will undergo a significant energy-efficiency retrofit, including LED motion-sensor lighting and advanced thermal envelope sealing.

ColdPort has retained the facility’s existing workforce of 120 employees, all of whom will undergo extensive training on the new technological systems and safety protocols.

This acquisition strengthens ColdPort’s ability to serve major food producers, distributors, and retailers throughout the Midwest, reducing transportation distances and lowering the carbon footprint of regional supply chains. It also positions the company to better handle the seasonal surges inherent in agricultural distribution.
